Guest Designer on Gaby Abby Challenges

Hey Friends

I just wanted to share a card I made for Gaby Abby Challenges with SEI

This challenge was to create a fall/harvest theme project.

I used the SEI Moonlight Collection to create this super cute card. I spritzed the diecut with water, then went ahead and crumpled it. In order to give it some texture, I then gave it a quick shot with my heat gun, then put some glossy accents on the leaves .

The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms The Charmed Life Stamped set The tag is from Once Upon a Princess

I hope you like it

Episode 55: Gingerbread Kisses Christmas Card

Hey There Friends,

I took a little poll over on my facebook page asking what you, my friends, wanted to see me make for a video. And not - so - suprising, everyone said "Christmas" I have been trying to come up with some really good ideas for Christmas time, because of course I will be making all of my cards home made.

I am so happy that I recently recieved my Scrappy Moms Winter Wishes stamp  set because OH MY WORD all the sentiments are just too cute and inspire me soo much.

Here is a cute card that I made yesterday for you all . I hope you enjoy it

For the Card base I used Once upon a princess, and the AC Chestnut Damask Embossed Cardstock.
The Second Layer is also from Once upon a princess and I used the DCWV Christmas Combo Stack
The cutesy Gingerbread people are from Just Because Cards the layer of green is just a scrap of DCWV Textured Cardstock
The ribbon border is cut from Winter Frolic

Enjoy

Make sure to stop by tomorrow for the Dia De Los Muertos Blog hop, it's a big one full of talented designers and some great candy/prizes as well :)

First Christmas Card of the year

I know it's not even halloween yet, but I feel like christmas is just around the corner!!!!

Does anyone else feel that way. I thought I would get a start on some of my christmas cards for this year. And I always tend to go simple when I have a few to make, I thought I would share this really simple card that is quick and easy to make multipes of. The secret is using double sided paper
Ok so the designer paper I used here is discontinued, I picked it up at my local scrapbook store in the clearance pile Daisy Bucket Designs, Astor Park Collection, Browning Street. I'm not sure if it is actual "christmas paper" but it had reds and greens in it, and I thought why not give it a try.

The paper is 12x12 and I only ended up using a 2 inch strip of it. The one strip is 1.5x 3.75 punched with my fiskars apron lace punch , and the second is just 1/2 x3.5. The magic of double sided paper that it instantly coordinates  :)

The snowwman is cut from Winter Woodland at 4 inches.  I used Frosted lace stickles on her hat and heart. The tag is cut from Once upon a princess at 1.75 inches and  The stamp is from Scrappy Moms "Winter Wishes" I stamped it used my Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Ink. Everything else is inked with Frayed Burlap. Lastely I added some black eyelets, and tied a double bow to finish the card.

Hope you like it

Episode 42: Another Quick Halloween Card

Friends,

I thought it was about time to get back on the video tutorial posting horse. So Mind my mistakes I'm still a bit rusty after vacation. Or at least I feel rusty.

I started out wanting to do the latest Mojo Monday sketch challenge, since it has litterally been forever and a day since I did one of their sketches

here is this week's sketch that I decided to use.

I had so much fun using the mini monsters cricut cartridge that I decided to give it another go. I used my Gypsy and the hide contour feature to hide the cuts for the face. I once again drew my own faces onto the pumpkins
The empty tag is for my Scrappy Moms a Haunting we Go sentment stamps. That I'm still waiting for, I was hoping the mailman would bring them today along with my new cricut cartridges, but nope. He brought me nothing but junk mail today.

anyhoo Enjoy the Video

Episode 36: Baby Cakes Layout

Hi friends,

Today I'm going to be working on the results from my Blog poll where I asked you, your favorite idea for episode36. I want to create content that YOU want to see, and I value your input. So here were the top 3 categories that won.  Since I just made a 3d object the last post, I thought that I would do the the layout. I will make episode 37 another 3d something :)

Scrapbook Layout (7)
 33%

3d object (bag, treat holder, gift box..etc) (7)
 33%
Home Decor/ Wall hanging (5)

Today I was inspired by Momo's Challenge. I had completely forgot about it until this morning, and this week's theme is " Super Girly" I went rummaging in my scraps and found some pink paper that I didn't touch since DECEMBER when i first got my cricut, and did a hello kitty layout. Also after a quick thumb through Once Upon a Princess, I didn't realize they had cute cupcakes on there, and I was EBAY bidding last night like a CRAZY WOMAN on Sweet Treats Cricut Cartridge
{side note: Didnt win, but did get some amazingly similar images at Lettering Delights for 4 bucks here and  here finally here, So you might see some projects with these very soon }
But I was very happy to see cupcakes on my OUAP cartridge because I wasn't in the mood to play around with inkscape or SCAL2 today. Sometime soon though

I hope you enjoy

Episode 23: Waterfall Card

I was able to shoot a very low tech version of a video. Using my Prehistoric Cam. Sorry for the strange angle. I got a new desk in my scrap area and Not everything is organized the way it should be just yet. I am hoping to have everything and reorganized by the end of today.

Anyways. When I was at CKC I saw a card like this and I was finally able to get around to making one. This is the most simple way I could figure it out. This is a great way to use your scraps!!! I know maybe some of you out there save every little piece of paper, like me, and this is a way to use them

My Slide mounts, I am not sure if I mentioned this in my video, I did it all in one quick shot and May have left this out. They were made from 1 7/8in x 1 7/8 in stacked on top of 2x2 in squares.

Like I said in the video I used Gypsy Wanderings and Once upon a princess ( for the title)
