Episode 126: Soak up the Sun Beach Scrapbook Layout

Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is having a very relaxing Labor Day weekend.

Today I am sharing a scrapbook page that I made using some Miss Kate Cuttables. If you have never used her files. I can tell you that you are honestly missing out. She has the cutest cutting files that I have ever seen online. And that's the honest truth.

I recently went to the beach with my family, so I decided to make a fun summery scrapbook page to save my memories.

For my Layout I used the Beach Girl

available from The Silhouette Studio online  Store (here
or
from Miss Kate Cuttables (here)
***
  Soak up the Sun title

Available from the Silhouette online Store (here)- as the tile only
or
The Miss Kate's Cuttables Store(here) with the shown additional cuts
***
for my background I used

Miss Kate Background set of 6

available from the Silhouette online store (here)
or
The Miss Kate's Cuttables Store (here)

I used the Silhouette Cameo Print and Cut Feature for the title and the girl and I cut the Background shape normally using some Hot Pink American Crafts Cardstock

Picture 3

The Designer paper is from KI Memories- Toy Box
The Kraft, Blue White and Yellow Cardstock is from Recollections
The Orange Cardstock is from American Crafts Earth Tones

I used my Fiskars Apron Lace punch to create the white borders on each page
Stiching made using my Signio Uniball White Gel pen

The Brown Ribbon is From Michael's
Corners Rounded with my Corner Chomper

I Stamped the little Girl's Face using PKS 640 Princess Faces Assortment using

Christmas joy scrapbook page

TGIF

Today I just wanted to share with you a scrapbook page I made with my Peachy Keen Stamps

This is a 12x12 scrapbook page that I made using PK-148 Snow Gifts and PKSC-11 November 2012

Since Christmas comes Earlier every year, I realized i'm very behind on my scrapbooking. This was from Christmas 2010 EEK!!!

DSCN1938

I paper pieced several gifts, and stacked then glued them together. No masking required.

All of the paper is from K&A Company Kris Kringle Paper pack

I then used the super cute label  from the novemeber Stamp of the month, along with the sentiment to add a fun phrase to my project

I die Cut the letters to form the word "Christmas" with my cuttlebug and using my white Gel pen drew on them to make them look like ornaments.

A few quick labels with my label maker and this project was done.

Only 2  more Christmas Layouts to go! wish me luck!

Have a great day

All of the pattern paper is from Recollections Autumn Splendor which is one of my most favorite Autumn stacks. I have yet to find anything as cute!

I started out with using the following sketch for my layout

I decided to add 3 photos on the bottom instead of 2 because I couldn't decide on which photo to leave out, so i didnt! :)

These photos were taken this time last year at "The Great Pumpkin Farm" in Clarence NY, one of my favorite fall places to go.

All of the peachy faces are from the PKSC-09 September 2012 SOTM, and the faces on the corn stalks come from PK-131 Happy Haunting Ghosts

All of my Lovely cut outs were created in Make the Cut Software and I used the font "Oh photo Shoot" for the title

There is also a fantastic sale going on at Peachy Keen Stamps

Timeless Twine Food Challenge

Hey Papercrafters,

I just wanted to do a quick post about the challenge that is currently going on over at the Timeless Twine Blog. Super Fun and Easy..

If you have yet to submit a project there is still plenty of time left to join in!

Challenge details:

Theme: Summer Foods
Embellishments: Timeless Twine of course  (If you haven't had a chance to purchase Timeless Twine yet, you may substitute with embroidery floss. You can purchase Timeless Twine here.
Project MUST be new.

Deadline for challenge entries will be August 26, 2012 11:59pm (EST)
Here is the project that I submitted for the Design Team Inspiration for you.

Untitled

I hate to say this but this layout took me MONTHS to complete. It all started with a sketch that I had one saw in Scrapbooks ETC and I had punched out all the circles in the various pattern papers  (Basic Grey-Urban Prairie) and adhered them to the cardstock. Then I couldn't figure out what photos to use in the layout so weeks went by and I found these photos in my stash. I trimmed them and adhered them onto White Mats (also from Basic Grey Urban Prairie) but couldn't decide what do as far as embellishments and a title so It sat for a few more weeks until I got word of this challenge for Timeless Twine.

I then added some Pink Timeless Twine onto the white mats using some Scotch Quick Dry. Dug through my scraps to find some White Ric-Rac.

The Title I created in Make-the-Cut using some fonts I found online "Blackout" and "Simply Glamorous"

The Simply Glamorous font was way too thin to cut, so I created a slightly thicker version using the Shadow Layer Function in make the cut. Much More easier to work with.

The Title is actually 2 layer pieces and I will be sharing the free svg  file on my facebook page later this week if you are interested. So be on the look out!!

I then just added a big Pink Bow, A black button and some more Pink Timeless Twine and a little tid bit of Journaling using my Smashbook Label Maker and Smashbook Date Stamp

And that is the whole  project. Looks simple enough but it took me month's to complete :)

I hope you enjoyed this project, and Please make sure to stop by the Timeless Twine Blog to join in the Challenge, and check out the other design team inspiration.

I'm also adding this project to the Simon Says Stamp Challenge.
My Combination for the challenge is Buttons/Die-cut/Ribbon

Timeless Twine Purple Passion Release!

Today I am sharing with you a project I made for the Timeless Twine Newest Release Purple Passion.

If you haven't tried timeless twine before, let me tell you it's fantastic. It's soft and the colors are vibrant, overall it's a fantastic quality.

Here my project that I made using the newest Timeless Twine Release.

Untitled

For this layout I was inspired by something similar that I saw in Scrapbooks Etc Magazine, but I decided to put my own spin on the project. Using my Silhouette Cameo I cut out a folder file that I had purchased forever ago, and altered the shape by welding a fancy shape as the tab.  Inside I decided to add all of my journaling and alot more pictures from her birthday party. .

I tied it closed using some Timeless Twine Purple Passion Twine and decorated the front using various stamps.I measured across the frong of the folder with my Tsquare and then cut out a Lori witlock studio file title and added it to the front of the folder.

For the little banner I used my brayer and inked up a white scrap with some Daffodil delight ink, I inked it very haphazardly so it looked a little more patterned. I then stamped on the triangle banner stamp from peachy keen stamps and added the letters on each banner with my Doodlebug designs Alphabet Stamp.  I then threaded some timeless twine through the banner which I then secured with two tiny pieces of Target Brand Washi Tape.

To decorate the page I use some discontinued AC Pattern paper that I had in my stash and  added the reverse punched out with a scallop punch.  After I completly had assemebled the layout I went back in with my paper piercer and piercing mat and created a zig zag pattern.

This was a little time consuming but totally worth it. I love the way it came out. By the way stitching with Twine does use up alot. So I highly suggest if you are short on your stash that you DO NOT thread the needle like you would with regular sewing but rather use one knot at the end of a single string and then thread your darner needle and tape the other end to the twine using a tiny piece of tape.

I did not use that technique but used it on another card project I made just before this one. You can check out that project here

I hope you like this project it has alot going on but still came out very clean and simple looking

Holiday Cookies Layout

Happy Wednesday!

Today I am sharing a scrapbook page that I recently completed using my Peachy Keen Stamps.

I know summer just started but for some reason I love catching up on my Holiday scrapbooking during the off-season. Usually around holiday time I am so overwhelmed with all of my giant to-do lists and family gatherings, that I can't do much crafting and just pick up a few stacks of paper to use at a later time.

In this layout I am using  PKS-02 Gingerbread Girl  and PKS-14 Gingerbread Boy
All of the pattern paper is from DVWC The Christmas Combo Stack.
Untitled

This is a realtivly simple layout that I used since all of my photos were 4x6. I just layed them side by side across the layout and cut out a 6.25x12 piece of red cardstock to mat them on.

I cut one photo small to focus on the center of the image, and cut a cardstock just 1/4 inch larger. I am sorry but I do not remember the exact dimensions of the smaller photo

I then cut  a 7x12 piece of Script Pattern Cardstock and Inked the edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Ink and adhered it to the center of my 12x12 Kraft Cardstock

I traced a piece of 12x12 scalloped bazzil cardstock onto the back of the Diagonal Striped 12x12 paper, and hand cut it with scissors. I then Inked the edges with my Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Ink, and cut it in half.

For the journaling lines and stamps I used Scrappy Moms Stamps Picture Perfect Stamps Set. These sentiments and Phrases are so fantastic to add to the layouts, and the journaling lines make it easy to add journaling area to your pages

The title is by Samantha Walker purchased from the Silhouette online store (here) cut from Green Ivy Pattern Cardstock
Untitled

For my peachy Cuties I had stampted them on a piece of heavy Weight Cream Cardstock and paper pieced them with Kraft Cardstock, and Pattern papers from the DCWV stack. For the whites of the icing, I colored the kraft with my white pentel paint pen, and added stickles for a glittery shine. I then cut them out and mounted them on heart doily.

I finished the layout with some Cherry Cobbler Timeless Twine , white buttons, and some doodling with my white pentel paint pen.

I hope you enjoyed this layout and I've inspired you to put some of your Peachy Keen Stamps in your scrapbooking. Using Stamps rather than die cuts in scrapbooking makes a very quick project.

This layout was completed in 45 mins start to finish.

Have a fanstastic day!

Peachy keen stamps challenge: Anything goes

Hey friends,

Today is another challenge at Peachy Keen Stamps, and the challenge is anything goes. As long as you use your Peachy Keen Stamps anything you make you can link up for this challenge.
Untitled
I was able to make this years scrapbook page for my daughter's visit with the Easter Bunny.

I was totally inspired to do something new with my ribbon from the latest issue of Scrapbooks etc. They had showed the sew ribbon tools. so when I designed this layout in my Make the Cut Software. I made sure to  make little notches in my paper where I can weave the ribbon in and out across  where the photo would go. I think it came out so fun, and I can't wait to do this more.

Both Cute little Easter Bunny's are from Kadoodle Bug Designs "Bunny Hiding in Egg" and "Bunny in Basket" Both of these were previous freebies from Kadoodle Bugs and I love their files

I was able to give them cutie faces using PK-441 Cute and Cuddly 1 1/8"

This layout also features REAL SEWING and lots of doodle as well. So fun!

and no project of mine would be complete without some Timeless Twine, I am using the Bubble Gum Pink & White

The title and the "2012" I created using computer fonts and Make the Cut.

Apple Picking Layout

Hello,

Its my design team day at SVG Attic. So today i decided to feature a layout that i'm working on using the brand new apple picking set. This set Jessica had made just for me so it's really fun for me to work with  :)

This layout is no where near the level of "completion" that i want it to be. It honestly took me 4 hours to plan the entire thing and with all of the final details i want to add onto it it will be a few more long hours finishing it. So consider this just a peek for now. I plan on added some itty bitty fall leaves and a little pumpkin patch between the trees. and of couse some Scrappy Moms Stamps and photos/journaling of course.

Here is what i have so far :)\

All pattern papers are from Recollections Autumn Splendor
99% of Cardstock from AC Earth Tones
CB folders used, Swiss Dots, Polka Dot, Forest Branches
"Garden Fresh" & Frame is from PTI Friendship Jar Stamp Set
All Twine from Timeless Twine
Inks used Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap, SU Basic Black & Colorbox Frost white

i will put updated pictures when it is completed to my liking. thanks for looking and have a great day!
