Scrappy Moms Sneak Peek Week : Spring Fling & Kids Inc.

Hey there,

Today is a wonderful day because today is the start of a brand new Scrappy Moms Stamps Sneak Peek week. This week will be filled with wonderful inspiration from the Scrappy Moms designers to showcase their TWO newest Releases Spring Fling and Kids Incorporated. NOW FOR SALE!!!

I cannot say how much I love these two stamp sets. Kids Inc, is great for giving kids cards, using on Scrapbook pages and just everything for Children

Spring Fling has all the sentiments you need to get you from St. Pattys all the way to Cinco De mayo all in one fun stamp set

Today I have two cards for you, one showcasing each of the stamp sets.

This first card I created using A Child's Year, for the card base and shape, Give a hoot for the banner, then Simply Charmed for the Chick and Egg, I used my PKS 464 Everyday face parts to stamp an adorable face on the chickie. I used the sentiment from Spring Fling  " You crack me up"

For the Second Card I used Lettering Delights Doug's Outer Space SVG Set. this set is so cute and I thought it went just perfectly with some recollections paper I had in my stash. Super cute for only 5 dollars. I used my Make the Cut software to cut the images out, as well as make the octagon card base shape. I finished off the card with the Kids Inc Sentiment " I love you to the moon and back" and some glossy accents & Twine :)

make sure you check out the rest of the design team's projects as well as our Monthly Guest Designer and go over to Scrappy Moms and place your order (you know you want to ;-P )

Terrific Tuesday Challenges with Scrappy Moms

It's Tuesday again.

Which means its Challenge time over at Scrappy Moms Stamps Blog

IF you're new to this challenge, it is a cricut cartridge based challenge where we aim to use up our cricut stash. All you have to do is create a project with the challenge cartridge. Don't have the cartridge?? no problem just use a similar cut from somewhere else :)

this week's cartridge is SIMPLY CHARMED.

I decided to use the matroyska doll from Simply Charmed, this cut is also on Paisley cartridge, and even my favie lettering delights has a SVG set of them here to cut out with MTC or SCAL

I  used a family size cheezit box and took it apart, then covered the inside with paper then put it back together using score tape. After, I went and covered the outside with the light pink paper making sure to score the creases with my bone folder.  This is a fun and quick project to do and a great recycling project.

I plan to use this box to store the handmade cards I recieve in the mail from my awesome friends. I also made a few different versions to store my in-progress cards, then another for my "cards to mail"

The Matroyska Doll is cut at 3.5 inches from Simply Charmed, embossed with the victoria cuttlebug folder
The Scalloped Circle is cut at 4.25 inches from Sugar & Spice
I used my 1.5 inch punch and 2 inch scalloped Circle for the sentiment
The Sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps Sweet Somethings.
I stamped the face using Peachy Keen Stamps Princess Face Assortment

I hope you enjoy my project

hugs!

January Class Video Recording: Simply Charmed

Hey there Friends,

Thank you for the overwhelming support for my Class last night. I was so happy to see so many familiar names come out and join me. I really had a fun time being able to show you how I go about making one of my layouts.

This post will have alot of information on it.
The  Instruction/ Supply post with all my cuts and sizes for this Class is posted here.

Where I get.... from
ATG Tape- The Tape Depot
Cuttlebug Folders- Oh my Crafts

You can use these cartridges to re-create this layout
Paisley & Create A Critter are my main 2 suggestions. You can so a search for "Mushroom" "lady bug" and "Grass" on Cricut Search and that should give you a few options.

If you are having a hard time finding the grass border, you can easily hand cut some some plain scissors. Just cut some fringe into some green paper

Have a suggestion, idea on what cartridge or theme for the Feburary Scrapbook Class?? Make sure you take a look at my ever updating cartridge list, and jot me an email with your idea. the top 4 suggested cartridges/themes will go into the final poll to be posted here as well as my facebook fan page

Here is a photo of my final finished layout. IF you watch the class recording you will notice that I did add some extra embellishing after the class finished.

***giveaway closed***Homemade Christmas Blog Hop

Hey there friends,

Welcome to the homemade Christmas Blog Hop!! Today's Blog hop is all about homemade christmas ideas for gifts, cards, and decor.

Today I will be showing you a little bit of each! It is soo easy to create awesome handmade gifts for christmas using your cricut.

Since I Just got my imagine yesterday, I sat down and easily and quickly whipped up card sets for gift giving. My family and friends love getting homemade cards.

here are the set of 4 that I made

For this card I used imagine more border feature as well as Country Life.
The pattern paper, solid green and kite image are all from imagine more.
This card I created using pattern paper from Imagine More and the clothes hanging on a line is from Country life.
The pattern paper and cardstock are all from Papertrey ink, I used my imagine and Simply charmed to match the Papertrey ink RGB codes .

Next I made a really cute ornament
This is a plastic ornament that I purchased from Michaels on Black Friday. Inside of it is an idea that I got from my fellow Scrappy Moms design team Member Liz From Liz's Paper Loft. I sprayed the inside with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer mist the photo looks a little foggy but the actual orgnament has a sheen of glitter, its so pretty. Inside is a cut from Winter Frolic of 2 birds in a cage, and that is cut at I believe 2.75 inches. and is mounted on acetate. If you want a full tutorial for this please check out liz's site, she has a great video. I tied a bow with Some stampin up Real Red swiss dot saddle stich ribbon, added a black button and tied some timeless twine. I added the ribbon onto the ornamanet with my hot glue gun

I created a box using some light blue cardstock, 11 inch square  scored on all 4 sides at 3.5 inches.

I also created a top and added some fun 2.5 inch wire ribbon.

Next I created a snowman candy bar wrapper. This is a free printable design by Laurie Furnell. She has all the instructions for it on her site.  It is a very easy sewing machine project. If you know how to make a straight-ish stitch you can make this

Finally to wrap everything up I used a Kraft Gift bag to decorate it. the cut is from Christmas Cartridge cut at 2.5 inches (i think)

I hope you really enjoy this project I created and it gives you some ideas for some homemade gifts for christmas

I have some blog candy to offer. Make sure you leave a comment on this post in order to qualify to win an IROCK!!!!! I will be choosing the winner via random.org on dec 22, so you have until dec 21 to enter for a chance to win

Next you are on your way to ELSA

Companion Challenge #10 Ahead for the holidays

hey there friends,

Welcome back to another companion challenge. First of all let me apologize for this being so late in the day, Youtube is being world class slow today for loading videos. I have been waiting for 3 hours for my challenge video to load.

But before I go ahead and start with the challenge, let me announce the winners of the Dia De Los Muertos Blog Hop

Both Winners were chosen via random.org,

The American Crafts Craft Fair paper Set, and Matching Journaling Stickers

Bonnie Cantu

And the Facebook Fan page Give away: Ki memories Pet shop

goes to Monica Lowrance

If you ladies could email me your contact information, I will make sure to get your prizes out to you this week.

Ok now for the challenge.

I really enjoyed this challenge a ton, and I hope you will too. This week's challenge is to "get ahead for the holidays" by premaking your 2010 thanksgiving scrapbook page!! You can do any size scrapbook page that you are comfortable with 8x8, 12x12 8.5x11, whatever! just make sure you leave photo mats for your pictures

This week's crafty companion is Melissa G. She said that she felt this was a big challenge for her, since she had only done one other layout before.

I think she did a fantastic job don't you?

For my project I created a double page layout!

The background Marquee Shape is from Gypsy wanderings, I sized it at 9.86 inches. All designer paper is from Me & My big ideas Cornicopia stack then went ahead and cut it in half and split it between both of the pages. The following red strip is measured at 3 inches, and then i went ahead and punched it with my Threading Water Fiskars Punch. I then went ahead and put at 2.5 inch strip of orange paper, and on top of that a 1 inch strip of a coordinating Designer paper
Don't you love those paper piecing? I found them on SVG Cuts and I used my Make-the-cut software and cut them out at 4 inches( Note: I am not an affiliate, nor did I receive anything in order for me to list them on my site, I just thought they were super cute, and a good price point) I used my PKS Laffy Taffy Stamps for the faces on the pilgrims. The "Happy Thanksgiving" is cut from Simply Charmed at 3 inches

The Turkey here is also from SVG Cuts, and cut out at 4 inches. I drew the face on the turkey myself. The Gobble Gobble phrase, i cut from Create a Critter at 1.5 inches. I cut it out twice.

.

The entries for this challenge will be combined with Companion Challenge #9, and the prize for this month is Thanksgiving 2010 Cricut Cartridge.  The winner will be chosen via random.org
