Smash-book pages

Hey Crafters,

I haven't had a lot of time this week to update on here but I thought I would share with you some of the projects i worked on recently.

I have been trying to scrap alot of the photos that have been piling up which means I finally got the chance to complete some pages in my smash book.

You might want to click the pictures to check them out larger

Easter 2012 Smashbook pgs

I made this 4 page Smashbook layout by attaching an extra sheet of cardstock to the side of one of my pages using washi tape and then making it a flip out.

I covered all of my smashbook pgs with Spring papers from Little Yellow Bicycle.

St. Patrick's Day 2012 Smashbook
On these two pages I used some Green Recollections (open stock) Argyle Pattern apper to just do a quick page for St. Patty's day last year. I added a few shamrocks stamped with my Peachy Keen Stamps and Phrases from Papertrey ink Luck of the Irish Stamp set
Spring Flower Show 2013 Smashbook pages
This is one of my elaborate Pages. I used papers from Doodlebug Designs Hello Spring 12x12. I included photos in various sizes, a entire brochure from the event, a flip out section and lots of Journaling

I hope my pages give you some ideas.

Spring is almost here

Happy Monday,

I haven't made a video in a while, but I plan to post one very soon just you wait :)

As some of you who "Like" my page on facebook may already know. I recently purchased some spectrum noir markers and I've been spending a lot of my free Crafting time playing with them.

This project I made for two challenges

1. The Spectrum Noir Challenge: Our March/April 2013 challenge is all about Spring.  Create any card or project, use your Spectrum Noir pens to color your image, make sure it has a Spring Theme, and you can play along with us!

2. Simon Says Stamp Sketch Challenge: Choose a Sketch. I decided to use this sketch as my inspiration

As you can see my main image was really side so I couldn't fit a half circle shape, So I used several smaller half circles instead. I also made my card 5x7 instead of square.

On a note it will probably be a while before I make any spectrum noir videos
as I am just learnng and need to figure our what kinds of paper to use
The image coloring above turned out "eh" in my opinion as I had issues
trying to control bleeding outside the lines

St. Patty's Day Card #1

I made some cards over the weekend.

I decided to go ahead and participate in some challenges, So i'm going to have to put each of the cards on separate blog posts.

I am  adding this project to the Simon Says Stamp " A Bit O' Green" Challenge and the Peachy Keen Stamps Photo Inspiration Challenge

The challenge is to use the following photo as inspiration for a project

I saw the color pallet and instantly thought St. Patty's Day, if you look at the photo you can just smell the scent of Irish Spring Soap in the air :)

DSCN2296
I started off with a A2 sized card stock, and using my Martha Steward Scoreboard, I scored the cardstock at an angle at each 1/2 inch interval for the entire lenth of the card. I then Rotated the card 90 degrees and proceeded to score the cardstock at 1/2 inch intervals again.

The result is a beautiful textured background

I added some brown Polka dot pattern paper from Recollections Simply Autumn

I also used the following shapes from Silhouette Online Store:

pinch proof shamrock  (Design #39327)

I Cut one of the Artisan Faux Stiches out of red cardstock and the pinch proof shamrock I used just the scalloped circle/layer and banner. I also scored the layering piece of the scalloped circle to make it match the background

I changed out the shamrock to use PPPR Shamrock Faces Cutting File because I much prefered the shape of this shamrock.

For the face I used PK-146 Piles of Smiles 1" I colored it in with my white Gel pen and my Prismacolor Pencils

and the sentiment comes from PKSC-02 February 2012 I just Masked off "on" from the stamp that reads "On St. Patty's Day" which I stamped in SU Garden Green Ink

I finished the card with just a bow of Olive Green Timeless Twine

Hope you like this card!

PKS Challenge: Oh my stars

Happy Sunday

Today I just wanted to show you a card that I made for the  latest PKS Challenge.

Create a card using stars in some way.  Other than that, you have total creative control, but it DOES have to be a card to participate in this "JUST CARDS" Challenge.

Design must be new.
Design must be a card that includes stars in some way.

Link up by  - 3/6 at 11:59 pm EST

You don't need our stamps to play along, but only entries using Peachy Keen Stamps can earn Top Peach!
Sorry, any entry that does not meet the guidelines for this challenge will be automatically removed without notice.

I haven't used my PKSC-February 2013 yet, so I thought this was a good opportunity to play.

This is an A2 sized card.

I cut the stars background using my Cameo and stamped it with my Woodgrain Stamp

The little robot and sentiment come from the PKSC Febuary 2013 stamp set. I colored him with my prismacolor pencils and added some stickles to his cheeks

The speech bubble is from Lori Whitlock

All Pattern papers are from the my Mind's Eye Nostaligia 6x6 pad.

Hope you like my card.
