Quick Layout

Hiya

I just wanted to share this really quick layout I made. I know I haven't made my 2 episodes per week like I usually do but that is because of my Ustream Class,, took alot of planning and prep work. I have logged that under videos for this week
I wanted to share this quick layout that I made the other day.

It was basically really simle used Nursery Rhymes font for the Daddy Title and the Girl came from Gypsy Wanderings.

I am slowly but surely getting caught up on my scrapbooking. :)

January Class Video Recording: Simply Charmed

Hey there Friends,

Thank you for the overwhelming support for my Class last night. I was so happy to see so many familiar names come out and join me. I really had a fun time being able to show you how I go about making one of my layouts.

This post will have alot of information on it.
The  Instruction/ Supply post with all my cuts and sizes for this Class is posted here.

Where I get.... from
ATG Tape- The Tape Depot
Cuttlebug Folders- Oh my Crafts

You can use these cartridges to re-create this layout
Paisley & Create A Critter are my main 2 suggestions. You can so a search for "Mushroom" "lady bug" and "Grass" on Cricut Search and that should give you a few options.

If you are having a hard time finding the grass border, you can easily hand cut some some plain scissors. Just cut some fringe into some green paper

Have a suggestion, idea on what cartridge or theme for the Feburary Scrapbook Class?? Make sure you take a look at my ever updating cartridge list, and jot me an email with your idea. the top 4 suggested cartridges/themes will go into the final poll to be posted here as well as my facebook fan page

Here is a photo of my final finished layout. IF you watch the class recording you will notice that I did add some extra embellishing after the class finished.

Once again we are continuing our getting to know my 3 great new design team members and this week it's Elsa's turn in the spotlight

I asked each of the design team members a series of questions.. here is an interview with Elsa :)

1. How long have you been crafting?
I have been crafting since 1997, when I had my son Danny.  I started making scrapbooks and layouts for him.  I didn't get into cards and other projects until maybe 5 years ago.  Scrapbooks are still my 1st love, but making crafts can be so much fun!!
2. How would you describe your design style?
I try to keep my projects and designs "FUN."  My design style changes with the technique that I decide to use, but I still try to make it fun and cute.  I  always try to imagine....would I like something like this for my house or for my friend???   I also try to stay pretty current with the latest trends and   styles out there!!
3. What is your favorite cricut cartridge?
It is impossible to pick a favorite, but I would have to say I use Simply Charmed A LOT!!!
4. Besides Scrapbooking/Cardmaking, what other hobbies do you enjoy?
As far as other hobbies, I am a SOFTBALL JUNKIE!!  I have been playing since High School and still play to this day.
5.Who inspires you?
I find my inspiration from looking at different projects, different crafts, and different people.  Sometimes I could be surfing the  net and come across something that I think is really cute....and I will just start brain storming and usually my project ends up being something completely different than I started off with.
6. If you were asked to get crafty in a room that has absolutely no supplies--you can bring 5 tools with you, what would you bring?
  1. Cricut expression
  2. cardstock
  3. ATG gun
  4. Ribbon
  5. White gel pen
7. What is your craft space like?
My craft room is our home office.  I actually was sharing this office with my husband, but since I started my blog, and started buying more supplies,   he decided to move out and let me have the whole room to myself!!! awwwwe, he really LOVES ME!! Here are some pictures...

8. What is your favorite music to play while crafting (if any)?
I usually will have my ipod going to LifeHouse, Hinder, Good Charlotte, Rihanna....I like everything, so as long as its upbeat and kind of gets the blood going, I will have it on.  Here and there I decide to just enjoy some peace and quiet and opt to have nothing going on.  Usually, my Ipod is Rocking!!
9. Favorite Project that I have made.
My favorite project would have to be the Treat box I made for Made by Momo when I was a Guest Designer on her blog back in November of 2010.

I also went and picked for each designer my favorite project they completed. And I absolutely love this card Elsa made for my swap last year. I actually have it in my craft room hanging up! :)

This hop is dedicated to those of us who have started our papercrafting journey with scrapbooking but after disover the joys of cardmaking we have let out first love go. This hop is to help inspire us to get back to our scrappin roots

One of my new year resolutions was to create 2 scrapbook layouts a month and I am more than happy to say that I am keeping that resolution!!

But even with the added scrappin i have been doing I am still vastly behind on my daughter's scrapbook!!! eek they seriously grow so fast sometimes its hard to keep up with all the pictures we take :)

I found two cute pictures of my daughter buried in the book of "need to be scrapped photots" and thought it would be a great chance to use up some paper that I received for Christmas :) <>

This Layout was ALMOST cricutless I only used my cricut to cut out the triangles for the banner and the bracket shape at the bottom of my layout

I hope you enjoy my project.

(I left off my journaling for privacy reasons)

QUICK CARD valentines day card w/ The Cutting cafe.

Hey There Guys!

I just wanted to share this new installment I will be doing every other Thursday called QUICK CARDS. Where I show you how to make a super quick card under 10 minutes from start to finish. This week's super quick under 5 minutes. Actually I could label this as 2 cards in under 5 minutes because that would be accurate.

1. Start w/ 3 pieces of 8.5 x 11  Kraft cardstock print background, Colored Circles and Digi Stamps Files from The Cutting Cafe Animal and Bug Mini Colored Circle Set
** I just want to note that I printed these on Fast Draft/Economical Setting on my  HP printer and they turned out just fine**
2. Cut heart Background into 4x5.25 inches
3. Fold an A2 Sized Kraft Cardstock Base (5 1/2x8 1/2 folded at 4 1/4)
4. Use 2 inch circle punch to punch out digi stamp of your choice
5. Use MS Circle Cutter to Cut out two coordinating Colored Circles at 1 3/8 inches and 1 1/4 inches
6. Adhere Background print onto Kraft Base, and stack digi stamp on top of colored circles
7. Tie a bow using 1 1/2 inch wide ribbon across the top of the card
8. Add Circle sentiments using Foam Squares
9. Add Faux Stitching with white gel pen
10. Finish the card with Some optional Brads and a Button ontop of the bow

Viola!! With all the print outs you can make 2 complete cards. or 4 if you print out an extra sheet of the background papers :)

I hope you enjoy this week's Quick Card :)

Just as a reminder to everyone I will be having my January Ustream Class next friday (January 28th) at 10pm est. I will be making a valentine's themed layout using Simply charmed. Hope to see you here. Click here to RSVP on Facebook.

Challenge #15: Color Challenge Black White & Grey Only

Hey There friends,

Are you ready for another challenge?? I was so pleased with all of the wonderful enteries to the last challenge. I loved seeing your favorite memories of 2010 and your goals for 2011. You ladies really motivated me to try to stick to my goals the best I can.

This week if you're new. We are playing for the January Prize: April Showers Cricut Cartridge
I host a challenge every other wednesday and the participants of each challenge in that month are entered for a chance to win the monthly prize. If you participate in both Challenges during the month you have DOUBLE the chances to win :)

This week I am also proud to announce that we will be starting in with out 2011 Guest Designers who will create projects along side my fabulous 3 Design Team Members.

This week our challenge is: Create a Project using the colors Black White and Grey ONLY. Feel free to substitute Silver for Grey if need be.

Today we have Jeanine C from Scrappin with JC Jeanine Created what I can only describe as an ultra lux chipboard album. I was super impressed.
She has a video of her entire book over on her site, so make sure to pop over for a visit and let her know i sent you :)

Now onto my talented trio. And let me just say their projects are wayyyy better than mine. This was a hard challenge for me, even though I was the one who thought it up. I always try to challenge myself!

Elsa created this fantastic 18th birthday card. with these colors it's a great card to have in your stash because it's easily gender neutral :) I also adore the embossing on the numbers.

Next Ivette created this very romantic wedding card.Perfect for seriously ANY wedding
Last but not least for the Design team we have Amanda. Amanda thought out of the box and took the chance to scrapbook her sonogram photos of her daughter with the color scheme. And I think this turned out fantastic

Now for my project. I can't honestly say what. was thinking with it. I basically found some black and white paper paper i wanted to use, and i wanted to use a doily somewhere in there, and alot of bling and I came up with this card.  I cut out the hearts by hand out of scraps and used some old silver and black glitter to cover them. It really turned out to be super glam!

the sentiment is from The Cutting Cafe Valentine Family & Friends

Alright you should know the drill :) You have until January 26tH at midnight PST you link up your project to the system below.
