Saturday Share & Black Friday Recap

Hey There,

I hope all of you had a fantastic thanksgiving. I seriously Gobbled well not until i wobbled, but until my pants felt a little uncomfortable hahaha. I was a very full little mama after dinner at my grandmother's house. She's the best cook in the world.
Seating for 14 and the Kids Table

Usually everyone brings something to help out with the cooking, this year I brought desserts, I made Cinnabon Bread and What my grandma calls "Cristina's Pie" I have yet to come up with a name for it. It's one of my homemade- no bake creations.
We never have enough pictures together, and I'm supposed to be working on a scrapbook for us, so I always jump at the chance on holidays.

Well like Thanksgiving traditional I got up at 2:30am in the morning, after getting maybe half a wink of sleep (my baby girl was being very cranky) and I shopped till about 7am. I actually did very good and spent alot less then I intended. I made somewhat of a video that you guys can see below. This year was the first year I didn't have anyone to go with so I thought I would make it fun and record somethings.  I litterally got out of bed, threw on a sweater and coat and left the house, so excuse my 2am looks lol.

** advance warning, if you are easily Nauseated by Lousy camera work, this video you might want to skip****

What I bought, i included the prices if I remembered offhand

Target- Christmas tree 30 , 3 PJ sets $5 each  ,  Toaster $3, Hand mixer 3, Disney Princess Kitchen set $40, Bath Towels 1.62, Leapster Video Game $15, DVDs $2.99
Walmart- Brother Sewing Machine 50,
Christmas Tree Shops, Acyrlic Frames .69 cents, Votives $2.29, Tape $1, Good Scissors $2, Shatterproof Ornaments $1.99, Ornament hooks $1,
Joanns, Fleece, Thread for sewing machine (buy one get one), Wrapping Paper $2.99 (huge roll)
Michaels, Clear Ornaments to decorate, red embossing powder, Snowflake Stamp set,

That's all that I can remember at the moment, but I know I bought alot more things.

Then after shopping and hiding the presents from our daughter, we had black friday dinner(basically thanksgiving again!) at the family in laws, and this time I made sure I didnt eat too much.  I made mac and cheese which everyone loved. When we got home we cleaned up the living room and set up our christmas tree, which afterwards our daughter decided she was going to knock over. Thank goodness we opted for a fake tree this year. I could just imagine the pine needles on the hardwood floors. eeek!

Please feel free to share your Thanksgiving stories here, or any of your black friday purchases. I love reading and responding with you guys

Saturday Share

Hey Friends,

It's Almost thanksgiving. WOOHOO.

So In honor of the thanksgiving spirit, I am putting up a little bit of a blabber post about thankgiving along with my normal share post today

Every Year my family goes over to My grandmother's house, and I always sit near the mashed potatos. Any of you out there that REALLY know me, know that I have a somewhat obsession with mashed potatos and gravy. LOL I love it.

I love thanksgiving because it's a chance that I get to see ALL of my family that I don't get to see often save for holidays. I also loving catching up with my cousins and seeing my family from out of town. It's the best, and now that my daughter is walking, and starting to talk I feel that she can really begin to socialize with the family. Last year she was passed around the table like of like the food, she was alseep the ENTIRE time. This year now that she is one she will be able to partake in the feast.

Another reason I love thanksgiving is for the turkey. I am not a chef by any means, and the only reason decent food gets put on the table every night is because I am excellent and following recipies, but I dont trust myself making a huge dinner for any more that 4 people, and ESPECIALLY not making a turkey. My grandparents always get a huge turkey and I love having turkey leftovers because it makes dinner really easy for a few days.

Alright I think that is enough of Thanksgiving excitment.

Now for my regular "share post"

This week I have beeeen soo busy making things for my ETSY, as well as local orders. I've been mass producing wrapped and decorated hershey bars, stocking stuffer items and Christmas cards! I have gone through about a million rolls of atg tape!

This week we have been taking time to REALLY set up my daughter's room. We've been getting her more toddler furniture, and trying to get all her toys consoldated to one section of her room instead of their former location ALL OVER THE HOUSE. She also has an impressive stash of toys underneath my Craft Table, which she usually plays with while i'm making something. Isn't that funny!!

Here is a picture of our current progress

I'm going to take a wild guess and say by the look on her face that she likes it!! We are still trying to transition from "baby" to "toddler room" but I think we have a good start already.

Earlier this week. I also took it upon myself to rearrange our entire living room. It started as just moving the sofas to sweep and mop underneath them ( hardwood floors) and vaccuming the area rugs, but then I decided to just move everything, even the entertainment center and computer desk.Yes it was alot of work and that's basically all I did that day.

Yesterday Was my crop night at Michaels and it was fantastic to go see my crop friends because I missed last month when i was stuck at home with a horrible flu :( I was also able to stock up on some fun things: I finally got a martha stewart score board, and using a 50% off coupon it was only 10 dollars :) I also got the K& Company Secret Santa Paper Pack , an ek success border punch (scallop diamond), a Fiskars Paper Crimper, and a few ribbons. I did really good because most of the items were on sale for 40% off

Alright I think I'm going to end this post, with a photo i made for my Grandparent's 40th (RUBY) wedding anniversary, which is today

used smiley cards for the base
mother's day 2010 for the flowers
wild card for the frame shape
once upon a princess for the tag
sentiment computer generated " god gave you two a special love to share... because he knew how much you'd cherish it. P
Embossed Vellum with White embossing powder and Prima "Recital" Stamp
Pattern Paper Brenda Walton Madeline

I could chat forever, anything you want to blab out, feel free at the botom of this post.

Companion Challenge #11: Gift Cocoa

Hey Friends,

Woah it's wednesday already!! Geez! I always say the week goes by fast, but it does for me!!

Welcome back to another companion challenge. This one is a Christmas Challenge , kind of.
So as you know alot of the stores are staring to carry their christmas inventory, And I saw what I can only describe as" Decorated Hot Chocolate Packets" and I decided to make my own version.

So the challenge for this week: Find a creative way to gift some cocoa using your cricut! This can be any sort of decorating for gift giving, as long as it includes some hot cocoa mix!!!

My Guest Designer for this Challenge is Jess from My Scrap Diary. Jess not only created 1 way to gift some hot chocolate but 3!!

Dont you think she did an amazing job. The 3rd cocoa project is on her site!!

And her is my project and video
cup cut from Winter Frolic at 4 inches. I used the shadow feature as well. Sentiment from Scrappy Moms winter wishes reads " Cocoa warms the heart"

This is an easy project to make multiples of very fast. Perfect for co-workers or stocking stuffers, even to have as an"extra gift" for unexpected holiday visitors. I was up pretty late last night working on the extras ( Hey, Dr. Oz said that procrastination is GOOD for you :-P)  I will post the picture of all of them when they are all decorated.

Guest Designer on Gaby Abby Challenges

Hey Friends

I just wanted to share a card I made for Gaby Abby Challenges with SEI

This challenge was to create a fall/harvest theme project.

I used the SEI Moonlight Collection to create this super cute card. I spritzed the diecut with water, then went ahead and crumpled it. In order to give it some texture, I then gave it a quick shot with my heat gun, then put some glossy accents on the leaves .

The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms The Charmed Life Stamped set The tag is from Once Upon a Princess

I hope you like it

Saturday Share

Hey Friends,

This week has just flew by. I can't believe it's Saturday already.

Some highlights of this week:

On Monday our main computer took a major big crash. It was custom built and everything. So we are looking to get parts for it so Ryan being the techy that he is can fix it at work.

My Daughter has taken to trying to break dance since we were watching a dancing show on T.V, and now every moment she tries to stand on her head and dance. Silly baby :)

Can you believe how close to christmas it is getting?? As you can see I've already been working on some of my christmas cards. And I'm going to try this week to get some stock up on my Etsy :)

I have been planning for black friday and getting pumped to go Christmas shopping. I cannot wait at all. I've seen some great deals so far!!

So in case you were wondering I do have a  Crafty wish list going. I am posting this in case any of my family come and check on it

Cuttlebug (Yes i don't have one, and my sizzix texture boutique doesn't diecut)
Chomas Creations Embossing Kit
B is for Boy cricut lite
Hoot n' Holler Cricut lite
Your Story Photo bundle from HSN
Wall mountable white shelves (to store all my cricut carts)

And that's about it!! I probably am going to buy the Your Story wayy before Christmas because Momo told me I HAVE TO HAVE ONE :-P She's such an enabler.

This week I am going shopping for My giveaway items, so look out for that some time this week.

So this week I leave you will a poll, so i can help improve my site for all of you. If you have another suggestion, PLEASE leave it as a comment or email me .

Today, I made my own sentiment using two stickers from Family and Friends Sentiments There was a sticker that said "happiness" and one that said "joy" so I put them together, and used my black pen to try a "&" to make my own sentiment :)

Today I also used my very old and never used Prima Recital Clear Stamp to make my own pattern paper as you will see in the video. I hope you enjoy my project

Card size is 5x7. Used my brand new MS Circle cutter for the first time with this project and it's fun and easy to use
the Inside of the card, i used winter frolic to cut the tree at 3 inches, and stamped my scrappy moms winter wishes stamp "happy holidays"

Enjoy the video
