My Top Scapbook Pages of 2010 (with video links)

Hey there friends,

It's another year in review post. This time i am posting about my favorite layouts that I made of 2010. and i'm sad to say that I didn't make too many. One of my crafty new years resolutions is to take more time to create layouts. I originally started out as a scrapbooker and Cardmaking has overwhelmed my crafting time, not to mention I am soo behind on my daughter's scrapbook save for the holidays. I also love making layouts for my mother as gifts. I know some of you may be new to my blog so I have included video links to the episodes where I make each of the layouts, feel free to take a peak at them. Also I would love to know which layout is your favorite :)

A scrapbook page I created for my mother for her scrapbook from my little brother's 5th Birthday. I just love the colors and the Shadows of the little boy. So Fun and Youthful. You can see the video where I made this here

This is a layout I premade for Halloween (it now resides in my daughter's scrapbook filled with wonderful halloween pictures) I love this layout it is soo fun and vibrant and the colors just pop right off the page. this is one layout that I am pretty proud of. I love how i added the buttons on top of the house and drew the faces on the creatures. You can see the video for this layout here

This layout is another one that I premade before actually going on vacation and just as a reminder to myself I completly forgot to fill it up with pictures. I am going to have to print those out :-P I love all the colors and details of this layout and I cannot wait until it's summer again so that I can use my Life's a beach cricut cartridge. one of the best one's in my opinion You can see the video for this layout here

This is easily a favorite. I just recently put the pictures from vacation into this layout and I'm so glad that I used "easy crop" sizes for it. I just love the scene that is created and the way i used my scissors and ink to create my own sand. I think this is one of the last projects I still have more of these Nancy Kubo graphics that I haven't used and Seeing this layout again makes me want to work with them again. you can see the video for this layout here

this is a layout that I think I am most proud of. I just love the way the colors matched and the photos are a good size. can you tell that I am the type of person to only use a few pictures for a double page layout?the thing is though, I end up taking a million. The title came from winter frolic and the santa and chimney came from Simply charmed. You can see the video for this layout here

This layout I made before Thanksgiving, can you tell that's kind of my think? I used some cuts from SVG cuts to make the cute little pilgrims and I just love the colors of this layout. I was able to easily add my pictures here after thanksgiving and the colors went just perfectly. I loe all the browns reds and oranges together. Soo cute. :) You can see the video for this layout here

this is one of the last layouts that I've made for my daughter's scrapbook, I am soo behind. I plan to hopefully be catching up in the new year. This layout i love because of the colors and the fact that there is a ton of buttons and shine while still being soft. It's alo a mixture of a bunch of cartridges in one layout too :) you can see the video for this layout here

Seeing this layout makes me mis the time before my daughter could walk/crawl I remeber her trying so hard to just lift her head up. those were the days when i put her down somewhere in her crib or on my bed and she would stay now she's getting into everything. I just love the fun bright colors and all the animals on this layout. I never made a video for this layout.

Even though I put this scrapbook pages in "no particular order" if i had did, this layout would be right up at the top. I love everything about this layout the colors the cuts and of course the photos of me and my chubby bubba. to see the video for this layout click here

this is another fun layout that I created for my and ryan's scrapbook which is also super neglected. Good thing valentine's day is just around the corner so i can start in with the romantic fun cutesy images and hopefully Provocraft has a new valentine's/romantic/relationship/wedding cartridge coming out so that I can add even more to my photos. DH isn't one for pictures so I literally have to treasure each one that we get together. you can see the video for this layout here

Have a great day!!!

For today's blog hop the theme was "anything goes christmas" So i decided to continue my work with my homemade gifts. The project that I will be doing today is showing you how to make a nice jar of cookie mix to give as a gift.

What you need to complete this project:

2 Clean Emptied Applesauce Glass Jars & Lids
1 pouch of Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix
1/4 Cup Flour
1 Box of Pistachio Instant Pudding Mix
1 Cup of Pistachios--unshelled. You can buy them ink bulk shelled and just unshell them yourself, its much cheaper that way.
1/2 Cup of dried cranberries (crasins)

Take half the amount of Ingredients and Add them in layers to inside the clean glass jars. I started with the cookie mix and flour and ended with the dried cranberries.

Video: Chat about Cricut Imagine Cartridges

Hey Friends,

Today I thought I would talk to you about the 2 different types of cricut imagine cartridges. I know I received a few emails and comments on facebook asking me about what were the differences. So here is a video explaining them the best way I can. Hopes this helps

Also I have decided to unbox all of my Original Cricut Cartridges. I still have the boxes and currently am keeping them inside the box of my imagine. Right now they are all in the egg crate containers that can with my imagine.I am currently looking for another method to store them such as velcro or even a tv stand with storage underneath, that way I have a surface to put my Imagine too. I dont know. I would love any ideas you have to store the cricut cartridges. but for now I need to have them unboxed because I'm constantly reaching for cartridges to use with my imagine. I didn't unbox any of my cricut imagine  or lite cartridges. I like the plastic containers better :)

Enjoy the video. I will be back later today for another Scrappy Moms Sneak Peak Project :)

Scrappy Moms Sneak Peak #2

Hey there friends.

I have another Scrappy Moms Designers Choice Sneak Peek for you today.

I made this card once again using give a hoot. The moment i saw this sentiment "butterfly kisses" I just KNEW I wanted to use this deer!!

****he following is going to be kind of confusing if you dont own an imagine... but you can figure it out using regular paper too***

The Deer is cut from Give a hoot  on pg 47, i cut this out at 2.8 inches and printed with the Imagine more Palette colors

the grass and hills are from give a hoot cut at 1 inch each on pg 65, printed with the imagine more palette colors. I trimmed them to fit on the oval.

I used the imagine system scallop circle at 2 inches with Imagine more paper on page 39 (1st one)

Cardbase paper is from Imagine more on pg 43 sized with a 5.5 inch square cut at 4 x 5.25 inches and the top punched with my martha stewart eyelet lace punch

the layer square is from imagine more on pg 40 sized with a 4 inch square cut at 4x3.25 inches

The oval shape is from imagine more on pg 14, used the layers feature and the journaling oval is sized at 4.5 inches true, and the yellow scallop layer is sized at 4.8 inches true

Nearly Everything is inked with Tim Holtz Pumice Stone Distress ink
Ribbon is from American Crafts

***giveaway closed***Homemade Christmas Blog Hop

Hey there friends,

Welcome to the homemade Christmas Blog Hop!! Today's Blog hop is all about homemade christmas ideas for gifts, cards, and decor.

Today I will be showing you a little bit of each! It is soo easy to create awesome handmade gifts for christmas using your cricut.

Since I Just got my imagine yesterday, I sat down and easily and quickly whipped up card sets for gift giving. My family and friends love getting homemade cards.

here are the set of 4 that I made

For this card I used imagine more border feature as well as Country Life.
The pattern paper, solid green and kite image are all from imagine more.
This card I created using pattern paper from Imagine More and the clothes hanging on a line is from Country life.
The pattern paper and cardstock are all from Papertrey ink, I used my imagine and Simply charmed to match the Papertrey ink RGB codes .

Next I made a really cute ornament
This is a plastic ornament that I purchased from Michaels on Black Friday. Inside of it is an idea that I got from my fellow Scrappy Moms design team Member Liz From Liz's Paper Loft. I sprayed the inside with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer mist the photo looks a little foggy but the actual orgnament has a sheen of glitter, its so pretty. Inside is a cut from Winter Frolic of 2 birds in a cage, and that is cut at I believe 2.75 inches. and is mounted on acetate. If you want a full tutorial for this please check out liz's site, she has a great video. I tied a bow with Some stampin up Real Red swiss dot saddle stich ribbon, added a black button and tied some timeless twine. I added the ribbon onto the ornamanet with my hot glue gun

I created a box using some light blue cardstock, 11 inch square  scored on all 4 sides at 3.5 inches.

I also created a top and added some fun 2.5 inch wire ribbon.

Next I created a snowman candy bar wrapper. This is a free printable design by Laurie Furnell. She has all the instructions for it on her site.  It is a very easy sewing machine project. If you know how to make a straight-ish stitch you can make this

Finally to wrap everything up I used a Kraft Gift bag to decorate it. the cut is from Christmas Cartridge cut at 2.5 inches (i think)

I hope you really enjoy this project I created and it gives you some ideas for some homemade gifts for christmas

I have some blog candy to offer. Make sure you leave a comment on this post in order to qualify to win an IROCK!!!!! I will be choosing the winner via random.org on dec 22, so you have until dec 21 to enter for a chance to win

Next you are on your way to ELSA
