Local Scrapbook Store Challenge Sketch

Friends,
Hey everyone I thought that I would share with you this card that I made for my local scrapbook store's sketch challenge. Not many people particiapte in these challenges, so I thought that since the wonderful ladies at Buffalo Stamps & Stuff take the time to post these challenges that I would make something for it.

I used Lettering Delights Hello Cupcake Doodlebats (3 bucks) for the image, and I sized that at 4 inches in MTC. I added scrappy moms stamp sentiment, punched it out with my ek sucess tag punch. Added a scrap of the sanrio hello kitty dot paper, and a strip that I punched with my Fiskars Scallop Dot punch. Added 2 buttons and some quick doodles and I was done. Total time: 10 mins. ( I timed myself and it took me only 5 mins to make the image cuttable in make the cut. Might do a Make the Cut tutorial soon. Enjoy my friends

By the way: doesn't this look just like a Sweet treats cricut Cutout??  Let me know what you think?

Hi friends,

Today I'm going to be working on the results from my Blog poll where I asked you, your favorite idea for episode36. I want to create content that YOU want to see, and I value your input. So here were the top 3 categories that won.  Since I just made a 3d object the last post, I thought that I would do the the layout. I will make episode 37 another 3d something :)

Today I was inspired by Momo's Challenge. I had completely forgot about it until this morning, and this week's theme is " Super Girly" I went rummaging in my scraps and found some pink paper that I didn't touch since DECEMBER when i first got my cricut, and did a hello kitty layout. Also after a quick thumb through Once Upon a Princess, I didn't realize they had cute cupcakes on there, and I was EBAY bidding last night like a CRAZY WOMAN on Sweet Treats Cricut Cartridge
{side note: Didnt win, but did get some amazingly similar images at Lettering Delights for 4 bucks here and  here finally here, So you might see some projects with these very soon }
But I was very happy to see cupcakes on my OUAP cartridge because I wasn't in the mood to play around with inkscape or SCAL2 today. Sometime soon though

I hope you enjoy

Episode 32: You & Me 8.5x 11 Scrapbook Layout

Hey there friends,

Before I go ahead and share with you my latest episode and project. I wanted to take some quick time to make a few announcments, I know that some of you aren't up to date with my facebook fan page, so I thought I will give all the latest announcements in one spot!

Some of you may know that I'm going on vacation in 3 weeks. Me my family and my best friend are headed to Puerto Rico August 3-11th. But don't worry I have plenty of things scheduled to do here, so please keep checking back then! And I ofcouse plan on posting bits and pieces of my vacation

I am soo excited to start my companion Challenges, on Wednesday. I recieved so many emails my wonderful talented friends, and I can't wait to work with you all. I still have 2 more spots left in decemeber, if anyone is interested please use the contact me form and I will try to work on a challenge for you. It's for december challenges.

I want to thank my sponsor Stuff 4 Scrapbooking, for their generous donation of prizes. Right now they are having a huge 2 day sale on all sizzix, slice Making Memories, Eyelets and Brads. They also do price matching. I wanted to mention this before! So you have a huge oppurtinuity to save!

I will be drawing the winner of my June giveaway on Thursday, so you have until Wednesday Night to join in in case you haven't already. The link is on my Right hand side >>>>>>>>>

Ok now to the good stuff,

I'm really really loving working with the 8.5x11 scrapbook layouts, they are soo easy to do in comparsion to the 12x12. I will still be doing 12x12 layouts, as my daughter's scrapbook is that size, but I will be from time to time working on my everyday scrapbook which is in this 8.5x11 size. I also need to work on an 8x8 scrapbook and a 6x6 mini.

So I'll be posting a ton of layouts in the next couple of days. I have over 200 Photos that need to be scrapped before I go on vacation, because once I come back I will have too many ever catch up!

I really love this sweethearts Cartridge, it's so cutesy romantic. It has a ton of things that go from dating to marriage, all in a fun kind of way. Its one of my faves. And isn't that the best part of love? the FUN!!!

Episode 31: Sweetheart Scrapbook Layout (8.5x11)

Hey there friends,

You ever just have a day where you hate technology?! Well today that was my day for me. I could not for the life of me get my camcorder raw video footage edited. I had recorded the episode really early this morning, and I spent all day basically fighting with every computer in the house trying to get the video onto the computer and edited and uploaded to youtube. Finally after being in a grump mood all day, had to change file formats with my computer geek's help! and then it worked!!

ALso I dont even want to begin on how much I struggled with my cricut machine. I forgot how to use the cartridges. I'm so gypsy spoiled!!! I didn't remember how to put the paper on, and setting paper size, and all sorts of other things.

I didn't even want to bother with the layers for the gumball machine, so I cut out the black out feature, and everything else in white, and just used my copic markers. ( I really wanted to match the paper colors as well)

So this video was probably the most stubborn that I worked at in a long time!

I decided to make this layout for Momo's Challenge that she has over at her blog, and the challenge was to create a "romance/love" layout. I have so many old pictures that I haven't scrapped, so I decided this was a good chance to get caught up on my scrapbooking.

This was my first attempt at an 8.5x11 scrapbook page and I love it. I got a free Horizontal Scrapbook from Creating Keepsakes and I just had to make something for it.

More Monster-licious

Friends,

I've been having a blast using the cuts from Monster-licious. They are so fun! AND easy to layer together, very similar to a-la create a critter.Well that's the way I did the layers when I traced them, and that's the import part , no little pieces!

Here are a few cards I made.

I'll back to using cricut cartridges tomorrow the old fashioned way! Tomorrow's Video will be an Layout  :)

Episode 30: Plenty Requested SCAL Tutorial 2 Parts! SCAL & Cardmaking

Hey there friends,

The day flew by for me today. But i've missed you all so much. I haven't been able to get to my computer to talk to you all, my little one has been non stop mommy mode, and literally at my ankles and tugging at me all day. So Not much crafting.

I did have some time to put together this 2 part request video. I got a few emails wondering if I could do a quick video on how to make images cut-able in SCAL. I haven't done this in a long while but I thought I would give it ago now that my gypsy is out of commission!

I also recieved a few messages asking me if it was possible to covert images purchased from http://www.letteringdelights.com because they have a LOT of cricut inspired graphics. I knew today was the day when I stumbled upon MONSTER-LICIOUS and I've been dying for the Mini- monsters cartridge, but it's out of my budget for now.

I am a frugalista, and I wait until I get a cartridge really cheap before I buy one, so this is satisfying my monster urge for only 4 dollars. I noticed they have alot of cartridge look alike, Heartland USA is prety much identical to some of the cuts from Just Because Cards. Seriously I couldn't believe it.

So Here is my quick video on how to convert some images. It's pretty much the same formula no matter what image you want to tweak from Lettering Designs. Hope this helps some of you out there, I was getting slammed with questions about this on the cricut message boards and emails.

Sorry about this card, It was very late when I got around to assembling it and I was rushed because of a sleepy baby on my hand.. It's not my best work but to be honest it's a card for my 5 year old brother's Birthday that was the other day. So i'm not too worried about it.  I will make another card probably tomorrow ish using another cut from monsterlicious to better show off the cutting capabilites.

Oh note*** if you are going to convert images to cut-ables, you're better off doing them all in one sitting, so that you can have them ready whenever you get the urge to craft. Nothing worst than virtually cutting and pasting when you want to be cutting and pasting paper!!  :)

The Saddest Post

I know there are sadder things in the world  but right now I am overwhelmed.

My Gypsy is broken!!!!!

So here I was at home, Just finished putting my daughter to bed, when I decided to work on some projects. I  had stayed up till almost 4am last night just inspired with mountains of creativity spewing out of me. Literally could not sleep until I had it all planned in my gypsy.

I start making what was going to be a fantastic card, I go to plug my gypsy into my machine and then I hear a snap ( I was even actually using the USB cord that my gypsy came with  because my daughter was playing with the extra long one). The USB port breaks off INSIDE my gypsy. IF you shake it, it rattles..

*****Graphic images*****

Now I have a naked card in need of awesome cricut cut outs.

The sad thing is. I'm going to lose all my files, and my templates and projects I have planned. Since I have no way of even downloading them to my computer. I have to old fashioned way, sit and write down what I used and what size and what cartridge. I sometimes use 4-5 cartridges in one sitting. Not to mention that there is no gypsy wanderings Cartridge. And I use a ton of those shapes.

I'm so sad.  So please be extra nice when I post my next few videos because I'm already dissapointed for the lack of welding.

I talked to PC, they will replace it, and I can relink my cartridges to it, but still... what am i going to do for 2 weeks!

I will keep making projects, but the old fashioned way using my cartridges! Boo :(

In need of hugs now  :(
