Episode 44: Drawing Faces

hey there friends,

I  had mentioned in my last post the results of my blog poll, and a good portion of you, almost 40% wanted to see me do a tutorial of drawing faces. I know I usually do my doodling on camera, so while I was away visiting my family out of town I brought my pens, some scrap paper, and of course my camcorder and decided to show you how I doodle my faces. I do so really simple faces, and I will make a valid effort in the future you to show you how I draw my faces as part of my episode tutorials.

For the photos of this episode, I thought I would share with you some faces, that I drew on past projects.

Remember that When you want to draw a face on an image, to you design Studio/ Gypsy to hide contour on the guidelines of the face portion. So that you're free to draw on them what you like

Saturday share

Hey friends,

I thought I would do a little saturday share. Its a beautiful day in western new york. And I'm heading to the jazz festival today with my parents (who I don't get to visit with nearly enough). In the car driving up to see them and I took a look out the window and even though I've lived in buffalo for the entire time I've been in the states - I never really look at it, and the city looks beautiful today in the sunny shy. Buffalo is usually know for its brutal cold winters but it looks so nice in the summer months, especially lake erie and the canada border, which you can see is only a skip away!

Just thought I'd share some hometown lovin from me to you!

Also the results of the blog poll let me know that a lot of you are interested in a drawing faces tutorial, so I'm going to start on that tonight and hopefully should have it ready by tomorrow!

Hugs my friends. And if the weather is nice where you are.. Go enjoy it!!

Companion Challenge : Birthday Bash!

Hey Friends,

I hope you are all ready for another companion challenge. This week's challenge is to create a Project inspired by Birthdays. This could be a card, a layout, an altered item. Anything that you can make using your cricut.

This was actually a huge challenge for me. because out of all the cartridges I own I couldn't think of something that was birthday-ish. But then I remembered I had a Cut that someone had sent me from a RAK from "Flourish Cricut Lite" and it said Happy birthday, So I constructed a 2 page layout from that.

This week's companion is Abby. She made an adorable masculine gift bag with matching card using DCWV the guy stack. DOn't you just love her color combination, the pattern of the paper goes awesome with the Bloc Party Cricut Light Cartridge she used.

I love the combination of patterns and textures, with her card and bag. It gives it extra something and looks fantastic GREAT JOB!!

Also, I have my incredible amiga Momo who was able to whip something seriously last minute, for me . On Such super short notice. So huge HUGS to her!!  :) She made this awesome Card using Create a critter Cricut Cartridge. Can you believe how cute this came out!!!

I adore the white stiching around the border of the card, and how it goes together with the ribbon. I think we will all agree that she is great at picking out paper, and that's the hardest part for me

Ok now onto my project. I was inspired by my little brother's Birthday. He just turned 5 (yes I know HUGE age gap between me and him and I used to be the Youngest) so I created a fun layout using my favorite paper Basic Grey Offbeat, ( so sad it's discontinued). I also Used the A Child's Year Cricut cartridge, and all of the little boys are cut at 4.5 inches

I do usually have video for my companion challenge, BUT, I just uploaded a video yesterday :-P

Tomorrow though I will show another project I made with this theme!

The Prize for this challenge is KINDA huge in my opinion!!

Hannah Montana Cricut Cartridge

As akways there are a few guidelines for this challenge

1. Only one entry per person
2. Project based on orginality
3. Project must use the theme "birthdays"
4. Project made specifically for this challenge, no older projects allowed.
5. Must use at least 1 cricut cut, but it doesn't have to be from a cartridge, MTC, SCAL totally acceptable

Deadline for the project is Septemeber 1st.
Winner will be drawn using random.org

Episode 42: Another Quick Halloween Card

Friends,

I thought it was about time to get back on the video tutorial posting horse. So Mind my mistakes I'm still a bit rusty after vacation. Or at least I feel rusty.

I started out wanting to do the latest Mojo Monday sketch challenge, since it has litterally been forever and a day since I did one of their sketches

here is this week's sketch that I decided to use.

I had so much fun using the mini monsters cricut cartridge that I decided to give it another go. I used my Gypsy and the hide contour feature to hide the cuts for the face. I once again drew my own faces onto the pumpkins
The empty tag is for my Scrappy Moms a Haunting we Go sentment stamps. That I'm still waiting for, I was hoping the mailman would bring them today along with my new cricut cartridges, but nope. He brought me nothing but junk mail today.

anyhoo Enjoy the Video

Feeling Much more Creative

Friends,

I am slowly but surely feeling crafty again :) It mustve been all the mojo vibes you sent me. I really appreciate it. This is a not- so quick layout. Simple but I didn't have time to work on it as much as I usually would a project. So I had to do parts of it and com back to it.

I made this laout for Momo her challenge was to create a baby themed project. I know that I used animals for this but the real start of it is my daughter, and she's a baby :)
I Used create a critter for all the cuts, but do you notice the shell of the turtle?? I used the Hide Contour Feature on my gypsy to change the spots from a circle to a heart.

The animals I made to match the animals on my daughter's pj pants in the photo :)

She was 5 months here, Time flies, she couldn't even crawl and now she' super active! Sigh!

ho-hum lost mojo!

Hey friends,

I hope you don't feel like I have forgotten about you all. Since returning from vacation I just feel out of it and not creative at all.

Not to mention that my blackberry grew legs and walked off with someone else last week! Which has contributed to my over all ho-hum funk that I have been in a lately.

Now that I have my replacement and a little me time to myself, I have slowly but surely trying to get back in my creative and posting groove, and I am working on Momo's current and last challenge. Hopefully I'll have those up soon. I probably won't have the energy to make a video tutorial until this weekend.

I posted a quick notice that if anyone is interested in having a q&a session please feel free to post your questions here on this post and I want to do a video on camera to let you guys know a little bit about me. I really have enjoyed those of you who take the time to email back and forth with me. I want us all to be friends <3

In the meantime please send me mojo vibes so I can get out of the slump that I'm in.. And until next time please enjoy my little sneak peaks of what I've been working on.. I've started a few things and so far finished none... But hopefully be winding them up soon :)

I miss you all. Hugs my friends

Cristina

Back home :)

Hey there friends,

I am happy to say that I am back home now. Had some internet connectivity problems at our last hotel so wasn't able to post my challenge. I am going to do it today and extend the deadline!

I have such bittersweet feelings about leaving puerto rico! But thank goodness I had my camera working. I took over a thousand photos!!!

That's a lot of scrapping that I need to do. I'm going to try to take today and decide what pics I want to send to get printed and how I want to organize them into pages. I got a lot of really great landscape pictures :)

Yay for scrapping.

Otherthan that I'm quite worn out from traveling. We had a very long layover in atlanta and our flight home had been delayed. So I have some much needed rest time!!

I can't wait to start making projects to share with you and hopefully I'll be back into the swing of things by this evening

Until then please enjoy some photos I snapped from my phone :)

Episode 40: "Up!" Card

Hey There Friends,

I made this card inspired by one of my favorite movies "Up!" I really love the message of the movie "it's never too late to follow your dreams" and through the trials of being an adult, a wife, and mother, I am constantly worrying about my husband's and daughter's goals and schedules and I forget about myself.

I hope You enjoy this easel card - but also take some time today to think about what you want out of life and let those dreams take flight.

You all are in my thoughts as I am on vacation and I hope to check back here with you soon. Please enjoy the video
